Virginia-Israel Biosciences Commercialization Center

The VBCC has developed a strategic relationship with several technology incubators, technology parks, and research institutions in Israel to assist life science companies with preparing US market entry. As the first group of companies working with the Biosciences Commercialization Center, the clients range from medical device companies to diagnostics, drug delivery, medical software, and novel therapeutics for cancer treatment.

The VBCC has forged a formal relationship with Xenia Venture Capital for life science companies exiting their incubator. That relationship and collaborative program designates the VBCC as the “preferred” US partner and commercialization site for their graduates. The VBCC has also been qualified by the BIRD Foundation (Israel-US Binational Industrial Research and Development foundation) and has received two grants totaling nearly $2 million. These grants support joint efforts to introduce specific Israeli technologies for two companies in the areas of medical devices and cancer therapeutics to the US market.
