Why:
UNOS dedicated the National Donor Memorial on November 20, 2003 prior to the installation of all the garden elements. On June 21, we will proudly rededicate the memorial, along with the advisory committee that helped design it, in honor of America’s organ, tissue and eye donors. Virginia First Lady Maureen McDonnell is the keynote speaker who will publically speak for the first time about her sister’s lifesaving organ transplant.
The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is the Richmond-based non-profit organization that operates the nation’s transplant system under contract with the federal government.
